More features for accessing bare notebook drives!
Notebook DriveDock v4 is a perfect solution for anyone who deals with bare 2.5" notebook drives. It quickly attaches drives via FireWire 400 or USB. Dual FireWire ports allow daisy-chaining for more versatility. The FireWire bridge chip is the new and improved 911+ from Oxford Semiconductor, and it's substantially faster than the older 911.
Gobs of utility
Generation 4 provides plenty of options. In addition to its bright new color, it has new power control features and multiple powering options. Notebook DriveDock supports bus powering over FireWire so you should never need to use an AC adapter. However, Notebook DriveDock also supports powering via AC Adapter or 4-pin molex in case bus power is unavailable. Because it's based on the Oxford 911+ chipset, FireWire transfer rates are really fast.
Using it is easy!
Just connect the drive to the Dock, plug in power and attach a FireWire or USB cable to a host computer. That's all it takes. For more protection to the drive, a mounting plate is attached to the dock to protect the drive's circuitry.
Generation 4 is loaded with indicators: FireWire attached, USB attached, +12V input jack active, disk drive power input jack active and +5V out operational. It makes a technician's work much easier. These simple fea- tures are immensely valuable when troubleshooting a drive. It even has an on/off switch for safe drive power up and power down.
Rugged design, built to last
Grab it and go - Generation 4 is tough as nails and built to last. The small and rugged case is built from aluminum for durability.
